Mar del Plata´s Airport Scheduled to Get a New Lease on Life

Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, a concessionary of the Brigadier General Bartolome de la Colina Airport in Mar del Plata, announced it has plans to streamline that air terminal as part of the works now underway for the Fourth Summit of the Americas in November.

The refurbishment process includes improvement of rundown structures, all-out renovation of the terminal´s main building, bettering of entry and exit points, enhancement of the VIP Hall, installation of new conveniences at the departure and arrival areas, as well as the waiting room, and a complete remodeling of the main runway and taxi strip.

The number of foreign tourists that visited Argentina in 2004 climbed 26.9 percent compared to the previous year, according to figures provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses.
