Majorca’s La Residencia Appoints Sven Gevers GM

Orient-Express Hotels has appointed Sven Gevers as the new general manager of its La Residencia hotel, located in the foothills of Mallorca’s northwest coast. Mr. Gevers joins the La Residencia team from Kempinski Hotels, where he spent four years as managing director of the Kempinski Hotel Bahia in Estepona.

He began his career with InterContinental Hotels Group as a graduate of its Fast Track training program. Mr. Gevers first served in food and beverage department then became general manager of Des Indes InterContinental in The Hague, Netherlands in 2000.

He continued on to oversee a three-year project to refurbish and reposition the American Hotel in Amsterdam and the opening of the InterContinental Doha in the State of Qatar.
