Major American Car Rental Dealer to Offer GPS Gizmos in Outlets this Winter

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, the American car rental dealer, said it intends to make available Garmin GPS portable navigation devices at 287 Dollar and Thrifty car rental locations in the U.S. and Canada this winter.

The world-class car rental said the devices feature a touch-screen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way.

The detailed maps featured on the devices include addresses and nearly 6 million points of interest, as well as hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and tourist attractions.

Additionally, Dollar and Thrifty car rental locations are also stored in the unit´s database, so drivers can easily route to the vehicle´s rental return facility. Subject to availability, the devices will be available to Dollar and Thrifty customers for $9.95 per day.
