Magdalena Voted Top Tobago Hotel

The newly-refurbished Magdalena Grand Beach Resort, formerly Tobago Hilton, back in operation only for about six months now, has been rated the top hotel establishment in Tobago by the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association (THTA).

The Magdalena also earned the distinction of being rated the second best hotel in the country, edged out by the HYATT Regency Hotel in Port-of-Spain.

The Magdalena has enjoyed a buoyant occupancy rate over the relatively short period, registering 60 per cent at the start of this month. John Murphy, executive vice president of efm Hospitality Solutions — which manages the operations of the establishment, outlined the achievements recently.

He attributed it to the performance of the 287-member staff. The target is ‘Best Hotel in the Caribbean’, said Murphy, who added that management was very optimistic about the future and was working diligently towards developing regional and local tourism in tandem with the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) and the local Tourism Department.
