México, France Sign Agreement on Tourist Promotion

Mexico’s Tourism Minister Rodolfo Elizondo and his French counterpart Leon Bertrand inked an agreement for the promotion of tourism in both countries and with a view to exchange experiences in that particular field.

In today’s world scenario of uncertainty, “one of the major challenges for the sector is the need to jack up travel inflows on a steady basis, to respect the values and rulings of International Law and human dignity, two values that both France and Mexico cherish so much,” Mr. Elizondo expressed.

The agreement seeks to promote Mexico and France as travel destinations, as well as ease communications and cut through red-tape proceedings for French sunbathers visiting Mexico.

Amid Mexico’s interest in developing new ways to draw travelers, Mr. Bertrand highlighted collaboration in this field between the private and public sectors.

Mexico receives approximately 80,000 French voyagers every year out of some 480,000 European holidaymakers that trek to the Aztec nation.
