Locair Adds Service from Florida to the Bahamas, Eleuthera
Locair, an air taxi airline based in Fort Lauderdale, has announced updates to its schedule to the Bahamas from Tampa Bay. The new service, set to start Friday Dec. 18, will be the only nonstop service to the Bahamas from Tampa Bay, and will also be providing new flights to Governor’s Harbor, on Eleuthera, in the Bahamas starting Feb. 22, 2010, from Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg-Tampa Bay.
Locair is offering a special low fare to launch both of these flights. Nonstop service to Governor’s Harbor, located on the island of Eleuthera, puts even more hotels and beaches within reach of West Coast Florida travelers. Flights will depart St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday and return same day.
Flights are being offered as low as $99 each way from Fort Lauderdale and $125 each way from Tampa Bay, plus taxes, based on roundtrip purchase. Tickets must be purchased by Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. Fare is one way based on roundtrip. Fare is nonrefundable, any voluntary changes (including name change) is $25 plus applicable taxes when completed 24 hours or more before departure and $80 for all changes within 24 hours of travel.
Fare does not include all international taxes and fees, including 9/11 Security fees, U.S. International & Departure taxes, customs and immigration fees, and airport user fees totaling up to $60 on some itineraries. Locair requires all passengers pay a $15 Bahamian Departure tax at their Bahamian departure point. Seats may be limited and not available on all flights.
