Lightning Struck easyJet Flight, Makes Emergency Landing in Spain
Barcelona bound easyJet flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Spain’s Reus Airport due to a massive lightning strike. The easyJet flight was flying from Britain’s Bristol city to Barcelona with 156 passengers. Passengers were left terrified when the lightning smack shook the plane, causing many to burst into tears.
The Airbus A319-111 operated by easyJet had to make an emergency landing at the Reus Airport which is an hour away from the Barcelona Airport. Latest reports reveal that the passengers are bussed back to their destination.
According to a passenger on board the easyJet flight, the storm came suddenly while the plane was flying over Barcelona and the strike of the lightning was really terrifying. There was massive loud bang and lot of flashing inside the plane.
The flight from Bristol Airport was due to arrive at Barcelona International at 10.10am local time. But, just minutes before landing, the plane was struck by the freak storm. It is thought the airport is currently closed, with many other planes also forced to land at Reus. Other passengers took to Twitter to speak of their horror.
