Le Meridien Moscow Country Club Awarded on International Tourism Day

On the occasion of International Tourism Day on September 27 at the National Tourism Awards Dinner, hosted by the Minister in charge of the Federal Tourism Agency, Mr. Vladimir Strzhalkovski, Le Meridien Moscow Country Club received “The Yuri Senkevich Award for the Best 4+5 Star Hotel in Russia”.

The Prestigious National “Tourism Olympus” awards were established in 2003 by the Russian Government to recognize the contributions made by the leaders of the industry and were named after the famous Russian traveler and researcher, Yuri Sinkevich.

This year the respected Panel of Judges was made up of Tourism Industry Professionals, Government Officials and Parliament Representatives. They had the difficult job of analyzing the enormous volume of application forms with reports and statistics on each company´s performance in 2004/2005. The outstanding work of the whole team at Le Meridien Moscow Country Club´s, led by its General Manager, Mr. John Wood, enabled the hotel to be selected as the best in 2005.

During the evening, Le Royal Meridien National, under the capable leadership of veteran Hotelier, Mr. Yuri Podkopaev, also received a special “Hors Concours” Award for the outstanding contribution made by the hotel to developing tourism to Russia.
