Largest Winter Resorts in Bulgaria Push Facilities Prices Down

The largest Bulgarian winter resorts of Borovets, Bansko and Pamporovo will decrease the prices of ski cards for facilities usage as of April 1. The cards will cost from 20 to 35 leva a day, representatives of facilities concessionaires said as quoted by Dnevnik daily. Price decrease aims to attract more tourists towards the end of the ski season.

Bansko’s facilities concessionaire Ulen said that it will decrease the price of the daily card to 35 leva. So far all ski facilities in the resort cost 50 leva a day. The price for students will amount to 25 leva and
those for children will cost 21 leva.

The companies in Borovets are also expected to make discounts for the usage of lifts as the card for a day will cost 20 leva. At the height of the season all ski facilities cost 50 leva a day and 30 leva during
weekends.

Pamporovo Ltd, the company which manages the ski facilities in the resort by the same name said it planed to half lower the prices as the current price for the entire day is 49 leva. Despite the lack of snowfall in the winter, representatives of winter resorts registered an increase in the number of tourist visits.

According to data of major tour operators the largest number of tourists who have visited Bulgarian ski resorts came from the UK and Ireland. Sufficient number of tourists came from Russia. Bulgarian winter resorts serviced many tourists from the neighboring countries, including Turkey and Greece.
