LAN, TAM Airlines Add Seasonal Flights to South America

Central and South American carriers LAN Airlines and its affiliates and TAM Airlines added additional seasonal flights to meet increased demand for travel to and from the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean to South America. LAN and TAM will offer additional new flight dates and options during the South American summer season.

TAM Airlines has added new flights from Miami to the Brazilian cities of Manaus, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro, along with new flights from Orlando to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The new TAM service supplements recent capacity increases in TAM’s Miami and New York routes.

Also, LAN Airlines and its affiliates have launched additional flights from Miami, New York and Los Angeles to Lima, Peru, through April 2013. The new service comes in addition to recent increases in seasonal flights between Miami and Santiago, Chile, and between Orlando and Santiago.

Overall, LAN and its affiliates have increased flights between the United States and South America by 23 percent for the first three months of 2013 compared with the same period in 2012. Over the same time period, TAM has boosted flight capacity between United States and Brazil by 32 percent.
