LAN Reports 13.3 Percent Increase in November Traffic

LAN Airlines S.A. and its subsidiaries reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics and punctuality indicators for November 2009. System passenger traffic for November increased 13.3 percent as capacity rose 8.8 percent.

As a result, the company’s load factor increased 3.2 points to 79.5 percent. International passenger traffic accounted for approximately 69 percent of total passenger traffic. Domestic passenger traffic in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador rose 9 percent as capacity increased 7.1 percent.

As a consequence, the domestic load factor for the month increased 1.4 points to 79.4 percent. International passenger traffic for November rose 15.4 percent as capacity increased 9.5 percent.

Accordingly, the international passenger load factor for the month increased 4 points to 79.6 percent. International capacity was mainly driven by an increase in operations on routes to the Unites States and Europe, as well as on certain regional routes.
