Jetsetter.com Private Sale Site Launches Retail Test Site
Jetsetter.com, a members-only travel site, has launched the beta version of a retail site featuring hand-selected vacation experiences representing the best-in-class products around the globe. Travel partners featured in the retail collection are by invitation only, meet Jetsetter’s high standards and maintained a member satisfaction rating of 85 percent or higher in post-stay surveys.
At beta launch, pricing was available on more than 100 vacation options across the globe. Jetsetter will continue to add properties and experiences leading up to a full consumer launch in early January.
Jetsetter will start testing the site with 10 percent of members. The test group will continue to grow throughout the month of December.
Jetsetter’s retail offering is not meant to be a comprehensive list of every hotel in the world. Rather, Jetsetter provides a curated collection of verified properties, selected by Jetsetter curators to meet the travel preferences of its sophisticated members.
Jetsetter’s recommended vacations represent the best-in-class experiences around the globe and include leading travel brands such as Affinia Hotels, Capella Hotel Group, Fairmont, Kimpton Hotels, Standard Hotels and individual properties such as The Chambers New York, Hard Rock San Diego, Ojai Village Inn and Spa and The Palms Place Las Vegas. Vacation experiences not relevant to Jetsetter members will not be included in the retail offering and cannot pay to be listed.
A Jetsetter correspondent has visited and experienced the property, and provided a first-person review including recommendations for the best time to travel, where to eat, what to do and how to get there. Unlike other travel sites which rely on the supplier’s marketing text, the Jetsetter review highlights factors that might not appeal to everyone such as the absence of a pool or abundance of steps leading to the rooms. As a result, Jetsetter members trust the site’s honest, authoritative review and know if a vacation experience is featured on Jetsetter, it’s something special.
The new Jetsetter homepage highlights the private sales on the left and the retail search box on the right. Members can search the retail collection by destination, interest (romantic, family, adventure, etc.) and hotel name. Filters enable members to sort through recommended vacations by preferences such as beach, romance, scene, shopping and more.
Since it launched in September 2009, the site has grown to over 1 million members and sold over 100,000 room nights in 65 countries. Jetsetter will continue to provide 12 to 20 flash sales per week at prices 30 to 50 percent lower than rates found elsewhere.
