JetBlue, Westin to Give Crack at Aruba

New York-based JetBlue will become the first low-cost carrier to serve Aruba from the United States, a spokesperson from the U.S. Transportation Department said this week.

Following Washington´s approval, JetBlue is planning to begin service from New York (Kennedy Airport) beginning September 15 on A320 aircraft.

In the six years since its launch, JetBlue Airways has focused on creating a new airline category that offers value, service and style.

Based out of New York City, the low-cost carrier currently serves 37 destinations with more than 400 flights daily.

For its part, American lodging chain Westin will enter the Aruba hotel market by the end of the year, following a $90 million upgrade to the former 481-room Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino, recently purchased by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
