JetBlue Set to Start JFK-Barbados Service

JetBlue Airways has announced plans to continue its successful international expansion with new service this fall to the Caribbean island of Barbados, subject to receipt of government operating authority.

JetBlue intends to begin daily nonstop flights year-round between Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport –where connections to cities across the United States are available- on Oct. 1, 2009. Flights are expected to go on sale in June.

Barbados is one of 12 international locations on JetBlue’s growing route map, and one of the more than 50 destinations throughout the Americas to feature JetBlue’s service. In addition to its new Barbados flights, JetBlue will also begin new service to Jamaica on May 21. JetBlue will operate its Barbados service with 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
