Jamaica’s Half Moon Resort Names Christopher Golding Executive Chef

The Sugar Mill Restaurant at Jamaican luxury resort Half Moon named Christopher Golding chef de cuisine. Golding joined Half Moon in Half Moon in 2008 as sous chef for the resort’s seaside restaurant, Seagrape Terrace. He previously worked at The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall Resort & Spa in Rose Hall, Jamaica for eight years as chef de partie, assistant sous chef and sous chef, and also spent five years Premier Cruise Lines as a chef de partie and sous chef.

Golding apprenticed at the Wyndham Hotel in Kingston and later moved to Sans Souci Resort on the island’s North Coast. He completed additional training at Hocking Technical College in Ohio, the Caribbean Training Institute and the HEART Academy in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.

The historic Sugar Mill overlooks the Half Moon Golf Course and features stone walls and high, pitched ceilings, and offers dining by candlelight indoors, on a terrace overlooking lush gardens, or under the a centuries-old waterwheel. The restaurant also features one of Jamaica’s finest wine cellars, with nearly 150 global varieties.
