Jamaica´s Ocho Rios Adds Stingray Attraction

Jamaica has joined the Cayman Islands in offering an attraction called Stingray City on James Bond Beach, 25 minutes east of Ocho Rios on the island´s north coast.

The attraction, which is opened to visitors in May, is located in Oracabessa, which means “Golden Head” and is the name given to the coastal town by the Spanish explorers in the 1500s.

Stingray City is set on a bay with views of Goldeneye, the Island Outpost villa resort and former hideaway of Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond.

Four groups a day, led by experienced guides, can feed, touch, snorkel with the 20 rays and pose for photos with them. The 45-minute sessions are priced at $55 for adults and $25 for children, six years of age and older.
