Inter American Tourism Institute Opens Course on Ecotourism

The Inter American Tourism Institute has just opened its first course on ecotourism, aimed at executives, impresarios, officials, professionals, technicians and community groups linked to the environmental preservation and the conservation of natural areas, as well as tourist operations in those zones.

The first course will kick off on May 30 through June 3 in San Jose, Costa Rica, with five follow-up courses coming right after that to complete the cycle. The weeklong, 40-hour courses include lectures taken from the Institute´s regular teaching program and dictated from its host cities in Barcelona, Bogota, Buenos Aires and Montego Bay.

In addition to basic subject matters tied to the development of ecotourism projects, the course will feature assessments and debates on real-life situations and specific instances in Latin America.
