IHG Opens Establishment in Miami Beach
The renovated 253-room Holiday Inn Miami Beach oceanfront property will open this summer as the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) revealed.
“The Holiday Inn Miami Beach offers travelers a unique guest experience right in the heart of one of America’s hottest tourist spots,” said Mark Snyder, senior vice president, Brand Management, Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts.
The hotel, which first opened in the late 1950s as the Empress Hotel, was subsequently converted into The Barcelona Hotel, and then later became a Best Western property. As the hotel becomes the Holiday Inn Miami Beach, it will maintain its chic Miami Modern (“MiMo”) style and mid-century exterior.
Additionally, the $2 million renovation will consist of a contemporary look in both the hotel’s interior architectural design and room decor.
