Iberia Pilots Call for Two More Strike Days in January

The Sepla-Iberia pilot union has told the company they will call for two more days of strike on January 9 and 11, 2012, sources close to the picketing leaders told Caribbean News Digital this morning.

The stoppage call, coming on the heels of strikes held on December 28 and 29 –in addition to another one held on December 18- is being made to protest the creation of a low-cost airline under the name of Iberia Express.

More than a third of Spanish airline Iberia's flights were grounded on Thursday as the carrier's pilots took strike action.
