Iberia opens more flights to Latin America

Iberia has jacked up the number of flights by 10.4 percent now that the company’s wintertime season has just begun. Latin American destinations will get the upper hand in this move that seeks additional hauls to and from the region.

The Spanish airline reported that the biggest increments in this year’s winter schedule –up 15.2 percent compared to last year’s offers- will go to intercontinental routes, chiefly in the flights to and from Mexico, Caracas and Santiago de Chile.

In the case of Mexico, the number of flights will jump from nine last year to eleven this time up, while the Caracas and Santiago de Chile routes will be benefited with an additional flight apiece.

For Santo Domingo and San Juan, there’ll be direct and independent flights on weekends. Both destinations will continue sharing the carrier from Monday through Friday.

As to the routes with Lima, Miami, Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico’s San Juan, the Spain-based company will provide airliners with more seats for the same number of flights.
