Iberia Flees from Honduras’s Onerous Tariffs

Spain-based Iberia Airlines announced its decision to stop flying to Honduras in the face of increasingly higher airport taxes and amid failure to reach an agreement with the Honduran government. The announcement was made by Arnoldo Zablah, president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Central American country. Iberia’s last flight to Honduras will land in San Pedro Sula next Sept. 28. On that same day, the Spanish company will move its operations to neighboring Costa Rica.
