Iberia Airlines Pilots Plan July 10-16 Strike

The main union representing Iberia Airlines (IB) pilots called a strike for July 10-16 that will affect flights throughout Spain.

Iberia pilots are protesting the airline´s plans to eliminate unprofitable routes operating out of Barcelona´s El Prat Airport (BCN) and Iberia´s investment in a new low-cost airline –Catair- based at BCN.

The full extent of the planned strike is not yet known, but it will likely affect domestic and some international flights.

If the strike goes forward, expect significant flight delays and possible cancellations, particularly on domestic routes. Confirm reservations and expect crowds at the airport.
