Iberia Airlines Pilots Announce Two Dozen Spring Strike Dates

Pilots for Iberia Airlines are planning to strike 24 times between March 16 and May 28 to protest the launch of Iberia Express, a low-cost subsidiary. Cabin crew and ground crew are expected to join the pilots in the strikes, the first of which is planned for April 9, the Monday after Easter and a peak travel day.

Iberia expects a significant number of strike-related cancellations and delays. Domestic and short-haul flights departing from Madrid and Barcelona are expected to be the most affected. Strike dates are March 16, 19, 23, 25, 26 and 30; April 2, 4, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30; and May 2, 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28.
