Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Launches Green Initiative
The Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Resort in Florida has begun steps to become one of the first environment-friendly Cocoa Beach hotels. Central to the initiative, the hotel has become a member of the Green Lodging Program created by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Initiated in 2004, the Green Lodging Program is an effort by the state to recognize and encourage all Florida lodgings that practice reasonable and considerable conservation efforts including waste reduction, environment-friendly purchasing, and pollution prevention.
Newly-certified as a Florida Green Lodging hotel, the Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Resort is beginning a number of projects to reduce overall energy usage and water consumption, to improve indoor air quality and to minimize unnecessary waste.
