Half Moon Appoints General Manager, Hotel Manager
Richard Whitfield, Managing Director of Half Moon, the famed 400-acre luxury resort located in the exclusive enclave of Rose Hall, Jamaica, has announced the appointment of Aram Zerunian and Shernette Crichton as the resort’s new General Manager and Hotel Manager respectively.
Mr. Zerunian is being promoted from his position as Half Moon’s hotel manager, a post he has held since 2002. He first joined Half Moon in 1993 as the resident manager for the resort’s newly opened Royal Villas. He was later promoted to manager in 1997 with responsibility for the overall operation of the resort until 1998.
Mr. Zerunian went on to work as resident manager for Sandals Ocho Rios from 1998-1999 and quickly moved up the ranks to general manager for Beaches Royal Plantation Golf Resort & Spa, where he worked for four years. At Beaches he led the renovation, operations and marketing of the Sandals-operated resort.
Shernette Crichton’s tenure at Half Moon began in 1990 as a trainee manager. She soon moved up the ranks to assistant manager, sales then to assistant manager, special projects spearheading Half Moon’s environmental and pillars of excellence training programmers.
In 1998, she moved to the Tourism Product Development Company where she spent a year as the agency’s training officer. In 1999 she returned to Half Moon to assume the post of Director of Training and Education. In her capacity as the resort’s training director, Mrs. Crichton led the training and development of over 800 employees including developing standard operating procedures and service standards for the resort.
