Grenada Appoints New Board of Tourism Boss
Newly appointed director of the Grenada Board of Tourism Joslyn Sylvester-Gairy is promising to engage in a public relations campaign that will not only lure more visitors to the island but one that will showcase Grenada for Grenadians.
Mrs. Gairy, who will remain in her position as chairman of the Grenada Carnival Committee, gave the assurance that she will be working to create a powerful alliance between culture and tourism.
Among her priorities is to meet with the private sector grouping that will not only be the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association nor the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce, but also vendors, shop keepers, promoters of festivals and other sectors.
Grenada´s preparation for Cricket World Cup 2007 is also of great priority to the director who is on a two-year contract. She believes that it is a big challenge that can easily be overcome once every Grenadian understands their role.
