Grand Cayman’s Ritz-Carlton Opens Greg Norman-Designed Golf Course

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has put the finishing touches on the $500 million resort and took the wraps off a Greg Norman-designed nine-hole Blue Tip golf course on January 6.

Championship golfer Norman, in fact, played an inaugural round on the course as part of the grand opening and dedication.

The 365-room property, which opened a year ago, already has garnered a number of hospitality industry awards as well as readers’ survey honors from leading travel publications.

The Norman course joins the resort’s Seven Wonders on Seven Mile Beach partnership. In addition to Norman, the partners include chef Eric Ripert of New York restaurant Le Berardin fame, who oversees two of the hotel’s five restaurants; tennis coach Nick Bollettieri, who designed a custom tennis program for the resort, and La Prairie, Switzerland, which chose the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman as the location of its only Silver Rain Spa in the Caribbean

A series of packages called Wonder Weekends will run on select dates from February through November with each weekend taking one of the Seven Wonders as its theme; in addition, a Reconnect Seven Wonders package is available nightly through December 13.
