Google Debuts Experimental Hotel Finder Search Tool
Google on July 28 unveiled an experimental search tool called Google Hotel Finder designed to help users find hotels based on geography and rate. Google Hotel Finder gives users the ability narrow down their search options based on where they want to stay and rate. It also allows users to compare a hotel search results with other hotels.
Google Hotel Finder points users towards the most visited areas of U.S. cities. The tool then draws a broad “shape” around the area to guide users, or they can draw the area themselves if they have an idea where they want to stay. Users can also see how hotels are priced compared to their competitors. Hotel Finder also will show users a collage of pictures from various hotels, Google Places reviews and other key data within the list.
Users input their preferred location, dates, price and rating details and Hotel Finder delivers its top recommendations in a list or on a Google Map. For the moment, the product is only available in the U.S. Google Hotel Finder is the latest travel-related product. Google also is introducing an air fare search tool using technology from ITA Software, which it acquired earlier this year.
