Gogobot’s New Hotel Metasearch Tool
Gogobot, the go-to place for places to go, announced the launch of metasearch functionality that lets travelers find the best hotel and accommodation deals available by searching across leading travel booking services, including Hotels.com, Booking.com and Travelocity. In addition to securing the best available rate on accommodations, Gogobot provides users with trusted advice and recommendations from like-minded travelers.
Launched after a watershed year that saw Gogobot’s traffic more than quadruple, according to ComScore, metasearch complements the travel service’s existing features, such as the recently launched Tribes, the intelligent travel search that lets users view any destination through their own lens. The metasearch integration turns Gogobot into a one-stop shop for travelers to research, book and celebrate travel.
“On the heels of Tribes, the hotel metasearch is Gogobot’s most exciting new feature,” said Gogobot CEO and co-founder Travis Katz. “With the launch of metasearch, Gogobot now marries intelligent recommendations on where to stay with real-time visibility on pricing from the web’s top booking sites. For our users, this is a big win, streamlining the trip planning process further while saving them 25 percent or more on their accommodations.”
As search trends are changing, Gogobot’s metasearch launch targets a growing segment of travelers no longer satisfied with a generalized search for travel inspiration. The majority of travelers pore over an average of 15 travel sites before booking, according to a 2012 report by the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, and nearly 5 percent visit more than 150 sites before securing a room on a hotel’s website.
Metasearch removes the burden of jumping from site to site researching hotels, and enables travelers to find more options and the best pricing at a glance. For example, a quick search of Las Vegas hotels on Gogobot now reveals prices from more than 30 different booking sites.
More than 15 million people used Gogobot in the last year to find hotels and discover new places to go. The world leader in personalized trip planning, Gogobot overtook Travelocity in June 2013 to become one of largest providers of travel reviews online, according to eMarketer, with more than 650,000 reviews.
