China Elite Focus has conducted a survey in December 2008 among international travel and tourism executives to know more about their strategy to attract Chinese tourists to their place.

First of all, 85.2 percent declared being “interested or very interested” in using a service that will help them to gain more Chinese tourists. 41.1 percent declared also being ready to use this kind of service in the next three months.

This first figures show that travel & tourism professionals are aware that it is now, during the first 2009 trimester, to undertake proactive actions to make this challenging year a successful one.

The core of the survey was the questions about the services most needed by tourism professionals to reach the Chinese customers. Building new sales channels with Chinese outbound travel agencies came first, followed by direct email marketing.

It was also interesting to discover that 29.4 percent of the tourism professionals do not have any strategy to attract Chinese tourists. It shows a real need for innovative marketing solutions, affordable for every tourism professional.
