With a new five-star hotel, innovative new conference venues and collaboration with the International Center Munich for large congress, Munich is enhancing an infrastructure already geared to handling meetings and conventions.

It offers 185 meeting menus that include locations in breweries, palaces, hotels and museums. It is also home to the International Congress Center Munich (ICM), a member of the Seven Centers of Germany, and one of the most modern convention facilities in Europe, with 19 rooms and a seating capacity of 6,500.

It has an exhibition space of 110,000 square feet. Since the ICM is incorporated into the Neue Messe München, planners can also utilize its 17 exhibition halls encompassing 1.9 million square feet of exhibition space and 45 conference rooms.

Munich is welcoming the addition of a new five-star hotel, the Charles Hotel, a member of the Rocco Forte Hotels Group, situated in the center of Munich and scheduled to open October 2007. The hotel has seven conference rooms, for up to 60 people each, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and mostly providing natural daylight.

Another new meeting venue is BMW Welt, a short distance from the new BMW Museum scheduled to open in the spring of 2008. It features a multifunctional 10,300 square feet auditorium, a Business Center, an exclusive Business Club and the spacious terraces.

BMW Welt can accommodate events of any kind, ranging from exclusive fireside chats to international conferences. It has an auditorium whose flexible room design of this all-purpose function room makes it possible to realize individual concepts for up to 800 guests.

Depending on the requirements of the event organizer, the auditorium can be used for conferences, product presentations, shows, banquets or exhibitions.
