Gabriele Steps Down as NH Hotels President

During the Board of Directors meeting of NH Hotels S.A. held today, Executive Director Gabriele Burgio has announced his decision of leaving his position as the Company’s Director, President and Chief Executive, taking into consideration that once the Business Plan’s main objectives have been met, as passed in July 2009 to face the economic crisis, the company is already in peak condition to take advantage of the economic recovery.

Mr. Burgio’s decision will be effective on March 1, once the annual accounting regarding 2010 is formulated by the Board.

Gabriele Burgio took over executive responsibilities back in 1997 when the company counted on 66 hotels in Spain, and following an intense period of development and internationalization, he has positioned it as one of the world’s leading hotel companies, with 400 lodgings distributed in two dozen countries, setting NH as a benchmark in urban hotel business all over the main European and Latin American countries.

As proposed by the Commission of Appointments and Returns, the Management Board has agreed the designation, to be effective on March 1st, of Mariano Perez Claver, professional with vast experience in the business and financial world, as new President and Chief Executive of the Company.

Mariano Perez Claver is currently the President of SOS Corporación Alimentaria, S.A., position he took over in June 2009.
