Frontier Airlines has received approval from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to fly nonstop service from Kansas City to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

With U.S. government approval now in hand, Frontier is ready to welcome passengers to reserve seats on its new service that commences on December 17.

"Frontier is always looking for ways to expand our presence in the Kansas City market," said Joe Cambron, Director of Scheduling and Planning. "The 2004 opening of an aircraft maintenance base in Kansas City showed our strong commitment to further growth. Since then Frontier has introduced a sixth Denver departure, spread our wings to Cancun and now to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico."

To celebrate the new service to Puerto Vallarta, Frontier will offer special introductory fares as low as $139 for off-peak travel.

Currently in its 11th year of operations, Denver-based Frontier Airlines is the second largest jet service carrier at Denver International Airport, employing approximately 4,550 aviation professionals.
