Four Season Weighs In to Add Grenada’s Cinnamon Hill to Own Portfolio

Negotiations to turn local hotel Cinnamon Hill into a resort have failed and the property is now being upgraded to become a member of the Four Seasons Hotel brand.

Grenadian Tourism Minister Brenda Hood confirmed that negotiations between the Grenadian government and Cinnamon Hills’ Gordon Stewart broke down following the government’s refusal to accept the latter’s special request on hotel occupancy tax.

Set to take over the development of Cinnamon Hill Hotel, which closed earlier this year, is Four Seasons Hotels. The luxury brand hotel announced it is building 22 units and 45 rooms, which it hopes to finish in time for the Cricket World Cup 2007.

The new hotel is expected to be ready by April 1, 2007 to provide additional beds to accommodate thousands of visitors expected on the island for the Cricket World Cup 2007.
