Florida Keys Tourism Council Appoints Jim Bernardin to Board

Florida Upper Keys resort owner Jim Bernardin has been named to the Monroe County Tourist Development Council, the agency responsible for tourism marketing of the Florida Keys & Key West.

The appointment of Mr. Bernardin, owner of Islamorada Leisure Properties Inc., which operates Pines & Palms Resort, was confirmed Wednesday by the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners.

He was nominated by Commissioner Mario Di Gennaro to fulfill the term of Frank Rego, who left the board. His appointment is to be effective until Feb. 1, 2012.
