First Outing Results of CND´s Poll Praise Vincent Vanderpool as Good Candidate for the CTO´s Secretary-General Post

Little more than a week ago, Caribbean News Digital reopened its poll section to monitor the professional opinions of industry experts in the Caribbean region about the candidacy of Bahamian Tourism Director Vincent Vanderpool to become the next secretary-general of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO).

This section was resumed after our newsletter posted an interview to Mr. Vanderpool and even though we´re planning to keep the subject on for a few more days with a new question, here are the first outcomes: In all, we´ve tabbed 762 votes broken down in the following way: 438 voters (57.5 percent) say Mr. Vanderpool is the best candidate, compared to only 4 voters that think otherwise. The remaining 320 respondents (42 percent) said they don´t know him.

Among those who clicked in their votes, 123 of them (16.1 percent) believe Mr. Vanderpool has an interesting platform and that he´s a diligent man full of initiatives that could help turn the CTO around.

Another considerable percentage of voters consider there should be more information on those issues, especially when it comes to such an important organization for the Caribbean region. These opinions aired by our readers should guide the CTO´s future work and projections.

Following this first survey, we´ll add other polling questions in the days ahead, always with the goal of going deeper into the topic. In all cases, we´ll put out the results for our readers.
