Jet Blue in a statement on its website states that four passengers have been taken to a hospital in Kingston, Jamaica for evaluation after they recorded an emergency landing at the Kingston International airport Monday evening.

The aircraft took off after 7:00pm local time and returned about 15 minutes later. The statement said that JetBlue flight 876 from Norman Manley International Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport returned to Kingston after a report of a smoke odor.

JetBlue added that it will ensure all customer needs are met. Maintenance staff and officials from Jamaica's fire brigade were inspecting the commercial jet.
