Fantasy Holidays Could be Next to Cease Operations

Fantasy Holidays, a 25-year-old packager of vacations to Italy and Hawaii, stopped answering its phones, creating concern in the travel agent community.

Although the company´s Web site continued to appear operational, attempts by TravelWeekly.com to log into its booking engine failed. In addition, calls and e-mails to Fantasy Holidays from TravelWeekly.com were not returned.

In response to concern from agents, ASTA sent an overnight letter to Fantasy Holidays on October 31, requesting a status update. When the operator did not respond, ASTA put a “status uncertain” notice about the company in its newsletter.

On November 1, Travel Guard International added Fantasy Holidays to its list of companies it will not cover in case of default.
