EasyJet Appoints Carolyn McCall Chief Executive

Discount carrier EasyJet named Carolyn McCall as its new chief executive. Ms. McCall had been with the Guardian Media Group, where she had held a number of positions, including that of group chief executive. She said the skills learned at the helm of GMG would stand her in good stead at the airline.

Ms. McCall has held directorships of Tesco plc (March 2005 to April 2008) and Lloyds Banking Group plc (October 2008 to December 2009). She was appointed to the Board of New Look in January 2010.
