DR’s Environment Ministry Mothballs Construction of Hotel in Samana
Dominican Republic’s environment minister Max Puig revealed last week that the construction of the Apartahotel Vista Mare in Samaná has been put on hold because it has not complied with environmental requirements.
“In Environment we don’t establish differences regarding the projects based on the property of its owners, who can be national or foreign, be they officials or not, we give the same treatment to everybody,” said Mr. Puig following a meeting with the Lower Chamber’s Environment and Natural Recourses Commission, where he explained the situation of the hotel under construction.
