Dominican President Opens the Caribbean’s Biggest Amusement Park

The opening of Los Delfines Water & Amusement Park and the start of construction of a beach club and hotel in the near future reveal investors’ confidence in the country, said its president Hakan Senaltan on Thursday.

In the park’s opening ceremony headed by President Danilo Medina, the investors said the park was created to gather the family, around a wholesome and enjoyable activity.

Senaltan said the project’s first stage was built at a cost of US$13 million, and in his view will stimulate the eastern region’s economy. "Currently we have 128 employees who are trained to provide quality service to the visitors."

He said Los Delfines’ facilities, built on more than 65,000 square meters overlooking the sea, make it the Caribbean’s biggest amusement park, with a planned second stage of 44,000 meters, in eastern San Pedro province.
