Dominican East Coast Hoteliers Recognize, Award Personalities
The Hotels and Tourism Projects of the Zone East Association held its traditional gala in which it recognized different personalities and associates of the zone.
The general manager of RIU hotels, Pedro Santamarina won the prize hotelier of the year, for its career and performance in the industry, whereas the journalist Manuel Quiterio Cedeño, editor of the Tourism Summary and president of the public relations and communication agency CICOM, was recognized for his journalistic work in benefit of the country’s tourism, specially in the East region.
Others recognized include Elizabeth Rijo, assistant District Attorney for area of Bavaro, for her work and against crime in the tourism zone, and Justino Gonzalez Figueroa, head of the tourism police (POLITUR) of the Bavaro-Punta Cana sector.
In his speech, Association president Ernesto Veloz said the zone’s growth, the opening of new projects, the opening of new rooms and the increase in tourist arrivals through the Punta Cana International Airport.
