Dominican Colonial Hotel Tops List of 300 Worldwide Affiliates

The Casa Colonial hotel in the Dominican Republic was ranked in first place by New York residents who in 2006 preferred it from among 300 other boutique-type establishments affiliated to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

VH Hotels & Resorts vice president Roberto Casoni disclosed that Colonial surpassed such hotels as Saint James in Paris, Art by Piazza di Spagna in Rome and the Grand Hotel & Thalasso Spa in Saint Jean de Luz, France.

New Yorkers chose the Casa Colonial Beach & Spa as favorite, by way of survey conducted by the New York Post.

Mr. Casoni explained to reporters attending a press conference that the opening of the hotel’s Veranda Restaurant, soon to operate during evening hours, will offer a wide selection of the very best Mediterranean food money can buy.
