Dominican, Argentinean States Sign Flight Transit Agreement

The Dominican Republic, through the National Aviation Administration (DGAC), and the Argentinean Commercial Air Transport Ministry, inked an agreement to allow aircraft transit between the two countries.

The accord’s objective is to promote trade exchanges and to contribute in raising the flow of tourists between the two nations, going back and forth from the city of Santo Domingo and Argentina’s major burgs.

DGAC general deputy director Luis P. Rodriguez and Ricardo Alberto Cirielly, deputy Air Transport director for Argentina, signed the agreement. Mr. Rodriguez pointed to the economic benefits that Dominicans will obtain from the measure.

“This will generate a great tourism flow from South America and the hotels will have more occupancy, since for Argentinean citizens, this country will be an attractive destination,” said Mr. Rodriguez.

In turn, Mr. Cirielly said that the agreement will beef up bilateral relations through air transportation, thus improving commercial and cultural exchange. “This is step of great importance, because air transportation unites the people of different countries,” Mr. Cirielly commented.
