Dominican airline Aeromar starts flying to Cuba

Prodded by Cuba’s high-octane tourist industry, Dominican airline Aeromar has begun flying to the neighboring island nation as part of an expansion strategy in the region, airline execs informed.

There’ll be a couple of weekly flights in the summer (on Monday and Friday), and a third flight will be added in the wintertime season.

Sources close to the air carrier informed Aeromar is designed for all kinds of passengers, from businessmen and CEOs to plain students, sportsmen and event goers.

With the addition of this Cuba connection, the Dominican airline –represented in Havana by Cubanacan Express- will use Boeing 737-200 aircraft seating up to 118 passengers.

Experts believe the flights are destined to build bridges for the sake of tourism development in both nations and will definitely buttress economic, cultural, sport and bilateral ties between them.

Aeromar also covers routes to other destinations like Venezuela, Aruba, Curazao and the United States.
