Delta will launch daily service from New York Kennedy to Haiti on June 20 and plans to spread its wings in the Caribbean region for the peak winter season.

“Our schedules call for a 24 percent increase in Caribbean frequencies for the coming winter season over last winter,” said Chris Floistad, Delta’s network general manager for the Latin America and Caribbean.

The carrier will launch weekend flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from Detroit on Nov. 21, and Saturday-only flights from both Cincinnati and Minneapolis to Punta Cana on Dec. 19.

Saturday-only service between New York and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, will begin Dec. 19. Delta already has a weekly flight to Puerto Plata from Atlanta. Saturday-only service between New York and Kingston, Jamaica, will launch Dec. 12. Delta currently operates a weekly flight to Kingston from Atlanta.

Grand Cayman and San Juan, both served in the past by Northwest from mid-January to mid-March, will be served by Delta with earlier startup dates. Weekly Minneapolis-Grand Cayman and Detroit-Grand Cayman service will begin Nov. 21 and Dec. 19, respectively. Saturday-only Minneapolis-San Juan service will launch Dec. 19.
