Delta Reports 7.7 Percent Traffic Drop

Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for April 2009. System traffic in April, including both Delta and Northwest operations, decreased 7.7 percent compared to April 2008 on a 7.1 percent decrease in capacity, and load factor declined 0.5 points to 81.4 percent.

Domestic traffic decreased 7.0 percent year over year on a 6.9 percent decrease in capacity. Domestic load factor declined 0.1 point to 83.1 percent. International traffic decreased 8.9 percent year over year on a 7.2 percent decrease in capacity, and load factor declined 1.4 points to 78.6 percent.
