Cuba´s Tryp Varadero Hotel Wins Top Award

The Tryp Peninsula Varadero Hotel, a lovely resort perched on Cuba´s premier sun-and-sand destination, has just grabbed the 2004 National Quality Award for its superb service and compliance with international quality guidelines for lodging facilities.

The Tryp belongs to the Gaviota S.A. Group and Sol Meliá Cuba, the Spanish megabuck company´s affiliate on the Caribbean island nation.

Jose Luis Rodriguez Garcia, Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy, handed out the award.

Cuba´s top quality prize is bestowed on those leading establishments and facilities that cater to tourists with top-notch services, excellent sale results and great social impact.

Since 1999, the National Standardization Office of Cuba´s Ministry of Science, Technology and Environmental Protection must validate the awards before they are presented to the winners.
