Some one million potential British visitors to the region now have a key source of information that will help them decide on their Caribbean vacations: a 24-page Caribbean Travel Magazine.

This colorful and informative publication, newly launched by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), was first distributed in January as a supplement in Britain’s leading mid-market Sunday paper, the Mail on Sunday.

Almost a million copies of the supplement were distributed in the newspaper, which attracts more high spending readers than any other in the UK and was voted as the “Sunday Newspaper of the Year” in 2003.

”The articles commissioned range from a guide to the best beaches in the region, to the most romantic settings and where to go if you are traveling solo or en famille,” said Julia Hendry, CTO director of marketing for Europe.

There is also an update on the latest news, including new hotels opening across the region and an update on sports and other exciting events happening in 2004, she said.

“This magazine was made possible by private/public sector collaboration of nine of our National Tourist Offices and a staggering twenty-two of our UK Chapter private sector members, tour operators and hotel companies, all with the common goal of making this the best year ever for visitor numbers to the Caribbean,” Ms. Hendry noted.
