Crew Member Goes Overboard on Caribbean Cruise
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a cruise ship crew member who reportedly fell overboard into the Yucatan Channel on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the Celebrity Constellation, which sails from Port Everglades. The man has been identified as Inyoman Bagiada, 45, from Indonesia, who worked as a cook, according to The Miami Herald.
A C-130 rescue aircraft, helicopters and cutters are searching for the man. According to the Coast Guard, the cruise ship did not report the man missing until 10 a.m.
Miami-based Celebrity Cruises, a line owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., said the man was only discovered missing after his deck shoes were found next to a deck railing and a review of CCTV showed someone going overboard.
